Semaphore Briefs describe RTU Applications for Natural Gas Production and Utility Operations

LAKE MARY, FLORIDA – June 30, 2010 – Semaphore, a CSE Global company, has released two technical documents with information on applications of T-BOX ultra–low-power RTU products for SCADA applications. T-BOX brings new technology to automation and monitoring of processes in natural gas production operations and distribution utilities.

The “Oil and Gas Well Monitoring using T-BOX” brief describes how the T-BOX product family cost-effectively monitors and automates a broad variety of production processes. The ultra-low-power Wireless Monitor platform runs on batteries and minimizes networking costs by using push technology to report on exception over public networks. For larger processes, T-BOX LP and LT models provide larger I/O counts and communication options while running on solar power.

The “Gas Utility Monitoring using T-BOX” brief describes how T-BOX Wireless Monitor capabilities for live monitoring, alarm management and historical report generation enhance service to the end customer while streamlining maintenance in pressure monitoring, regulators and metering applications.

In all applications, an integrated RTU solution manages input measurements and a broad range of communications devices to efficiently allow access to all locations. T-BOX extends advanced IP communications, an integral web server, and push technology to comprise a very informative monitoring system. T-BOX further incorporates very flexible, programmable automation in IEC 61131-3 Ladder Diagram, Basic and Microsoft Automation.

The documents are available on the Semaphore website, www.cse-semaphore.com.

T-BOX is the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the complete integration of SCADA system control and communications functionality in one rugged package. It leverages easy-to-use Web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralized monitoring and control systems. T-BOX products offer up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/ PLC systems and permit greater organizational access to data through automated reporting and browser software.

Semaphore’s T-BOX and Kingfisher RTU products are ideal for a broad range of monitoring and control applications in the broadcast / telecom, infrastructure management, oil & gas, power, transportation and water / wastewater industries.
